POAPs are not just digital collectibles, but they represent precious memories. Therefore, it's crucial to distribute them in a way that honors their value. Distributing POAPs to collectors in an unsolicited manner is not an acceptable practice, as it takes away a collector’s unique experience of minting a POAP for a specific moment.
If you are distributing a POAP for a past event, we recommend using POAP Delivery or mail-merge to do so reliably; importantly, both these methods will still require the collector’s consent or “opt-in” before the POAP is minted to their wallet. By collecting Ethereum addresses or emails beforehand and using these recommended distribution methods, you can complete the distribution efficiently without compromising consent by collectors.
Distributing POAPs without collector consent has consequences on your record as a responsible issuer and may affect your ability to create and distribute POAPs in the future.
