Minting a POAP using a Secret presents a convenient distribution method suitable for a range of scenarios. This guide aims to lead you through the process of minting a POAP via a POAP Secret.
We advise issuers to share this step-by-step guide with collectors to help them prepare for minting a POAP using a Secret, ensuring they don't miss the opportunity to obtain their unique digital collectible.
Step 1: Download the POAP Home app
Before attending the event where the Secret will be revealed, make sure you have the POAP Home app installed on your device. The POAP Home app is available on both iOS and Android platforms. Once you’ve downloaded the app, open it and go to the app settings to set your Ethereum address, ENS, or email as your main account.
Step 2: Attend the event
Make your way to the event where the Secret Word will be shared. Keep in mind that the Secret is typically revealed during a specific, short timeframe. Be attentive and ready!
Step 3: The Secret is announced!
Once the Secret is announced, open the POAP Home app on your device. You will be directed to your main account’s collection. Tap the “Mint” button in the bottom right corner and select the option “Secret word” from the menu.
An input field will appear. Enter the Secret and tap “Mint”.
Step 4: Mint the POAP
Congratulations! Your POAP will be minted. Minting may take a couple of seconds. You can close the window if you don’t want to wait; the POAP will be added to your collection automatically.
