The Curation Body strives to maintain high-quality standards for POAP digital collectibles. The curation process involves reviewing drops based on four main pillars: Creative, Distribution, Purpose, and Record. Drops that do not meet these criteria may be rejected, along with a brief explanation of the specific reason for the rejection and steps to improve in the future. In this article, we will explore these pillars briefly. To improve the quality and speed up the approval of your drops, we suggest diving deeper into the Curation Body's Suggested Guidelines.
Creative:
Creative quality plays a pivotal role in crafting a unique digital collectible. High-quality art and copy sets the POAP apart and is often the aspect most appreciated by collectors. Considerations such as matching the potential collector’s interests, effective communication of the memory being commemorated, and consistent branding are crucial. A well-crafted collectible strikes a chord with collectors and creates a sense of belonging around a shared memory.
Distribution:
It’s vital to distribute POAPs only to the specific people who shared the memory being commemorated. Proper distribution should include timely and secure access to the POAP and be a pleasant and seamless experience. Appropriate distribution methods can also create a sense of exclusivity, increasing the collectible's perceived value.
Purpose:
Alignment with the purpose and standards of the POAP ecosystem is essential. The intention behind a POAP should resonate with the community collecting it; it should be a gift from issuer to collector. Attempts to create POAPs for reasons that are poorly defined, may be missing important information, or don’t uphold the values of a community will be rejected.
Record:
An issuer's track record in the POAP ecosystem can influence curation decisions. Past performance in creating high-quality and desirable collectibles may lead to a more lenient approach, while a history of attempting low-quality, unoriginal, or hateful POAPs may result in closer scrutiny for an issuer in the future.
We encourage issuers to consult the POAP Curation Body guidelines, including a full detailed view of specific reason codes. These provide detailed information on the recommended practices for creating and distributing POAP digital collectibles. Understanding these guidelines will help your drop get approved quickly.
