How Do I Set Up a Website for POAP Distribution?

A step-by-step guide to setting up a Website to distribute your POAPs.

Prerequisites: Before setting up your POAP Website, you need to set up a Drop. If you need help setting up a Drop, please see our Help Center article on Drop creation, "How to Create a POAP Drop"

Setting up your POAP Website  To begin, login to POAP Drops.

Next Once you’re logged in, click the Website option.

Next, choose a URL you would like to use for your Website. POAP Drops will offer a randomly generated URL or you can choose your own. If you choose your own, do not choose a word or phrase similar to the title or description of your Drop and include a random string of letters and numbers at the end. Curation will not approve Websites that use elements from the title or description from your Drop as these are easily farmed.

Note: On this page, you also enter the amount of POAPs you want for your Website and select the date and time you want your Website to be live for minting POAPs. Once you have entered this info, click “Submit request.”

Your Website will go through the curation process and you will be able to view the latest status on your POAP Drops dashboard.

When your Website is approved, the status will update.

To view your Website URL you can hover over the "URL" in the dashboard

Editing your Website To edit your Website, click the pencil icon in the Website section of POAP Drops.

This will take you to the page below, where you can edit the needed information. Note: the “Active” toggle allows you to turn your Website on and off at any time. When you are done, click “Save changes.”

Generating a QR code for your Website To generate a QR code that will take people to your POAP Website when scanned, click the “Generate QR code” tab.

A QR code will be generated, which you can download and display at your event. This QR code will be specific to your Website and can be found in that tab any time that a Website is active.

Request more POAPs If you need to request more POAPs for your POAP Website, you can do so by clicking the “Request more” button:

Note: The amount of POAPs requested should stay within the POAP Guidelines or your request will be rejected.

On the next page, input the desired amount and click “Submit request.”

If a Website cannot be approved without comment, curators may reach out to you (via the email provided when the Drop was set up) for the following reasons:

• Request for Information: in some cases, additional information is required by curators to make a decision.

• Conditional approval: In other cases, a Drop may be approved with relatively minor changes to the Drop (such as content or distribution). After an issuer makes the necessary changes, the Drop will be approved promptly.

Drops are rejected when they are too far out of alignment with the POAP ethos, or when distribution presents too high a risk of POAPs ending up in the hands of those that should not be eligible. Ultimately, the final determination of whether a Drop is approved rests with the POAP Curation Body, as the stewards of the POAP ecosystem.
