POAPs have proven to be a fantastic community-building tool for enhancing engagement and signaling active members. If you are the admin of a space on Snapshot, you can add the POAP plugin to reward those who vote on your proposals with a unique POAP.
Step 1: Go to your space on Snapshot
Ensure that you have the permissions required to add new plugins, or reach out to the admins of the space you'd like to set up with the plugin.

Step 2: Add the POAP module
On your space page, go to the "Settings" —> “Advanced”. At the top of the page in the “Plugins” section click "Add Plugin."
Search for the "POAP Module" and click on it.
After you click on the POAP Module you will see the POAP Module added to the Plugins Section.
Go to the bottom of the page and click "Save."
After you click Save, you will be asked to sign a transaction from your wallet.
Step 3: Create a new proposal
Now when you create a new proposal, the POAP plugin will be automatically added. There is no need to manually add it to each new proposal.
Once the proposal has been created, you can get your Snapshot proposal ID from the URL of the proposal.
Save this! You will need it to link your proposal to your POAP drop.
Step 4: Create a POAP drop
Follow the instructions in our guide "How to Create a POAP Drop" but be sure to request "0" mint links.
NOTE: Please do not select a distribution method for this Drop. There is no distribution method used for snapshot distribution
Take note of your Drop ID, as you will need this for the next steps.
Step 5: Link your proposal to your POAP drop
Reach out to the POAP team by filling out the required fields in the POAP Snapshot Proposal Request form. Do not post your request anywhere else.
NOTE:
- Your request will be reviewed by the POAP Curation Body after the vote is finished. If the request is approved, every voter will be able to mint their special POAP.
- The snapshot vote must be closed for the POAP to be linked to the Snapshot.
Once the POAP Drop is connected to the closed Snapshot vote, you will see this in left hand column of the Snapshot voting page. Those wallet addresses that voted will be able to mint the POAP.
How to check the status of your request?
If you want to check on the status of your request, you should do so by using the chat bubble:
- Click the chat bubble in the lower-right corner of the POAP Website.
- Choose "I want to talk to someone".
- You will need your drop ID and email address used to create the drop.
- A customer success agent will be available to assist you..
If curation needs to contact you, they will do so via the email curation@poap.io. If customer support needs to contact you, they will do so via the email support@poap.io. Beware of scams and never reply to other email addresses.
